bilingual baby

I am trying to raise Emma to be bilingual and it is harder than my mom made it seem. Emma now understands that objects can have more than one name. She can switch from English to Spanish on certain words for example she will at times call shoes/zapatos or cat/Gato, but the best is when she actually combines both words into one. She does this with moon or luna and calls it moona and fish, pez, is Pish. She is too cute and I feel she can talk more than she lets on but is either lazy or just stubborn. She does have this incredible strong will and extreme sense of independence that I just have to question where it came from.
