So this was my second attempt with red velvet cupcakes and I must say they came out better than the first, but I'm still not sold. I'm very harsh and particular about my cupcakes. The funny thing is I have no point of comparison because I just don't know exactly what they are supposed to taste like. I must say that the second day they got more moist but still a bit too chocolaty. I will try again this weekend but the person I made them for said they were delish, as did Ant and Emma, not that Emma really discriminates cupcakes. I was satisfied with the outcome. I am practicing my piping skills and was so happy to finally be able to use some decorations Claudia gave me. Here are the pics. I think I want to make red velvet whoopie pies.
I can tell you from first hand experience, these cupcakes were moist, fluffy and the icing was superb. Not only were they tasty, they were so pretty too! Don't be so hard on yourself! I thought they were divine and I love ALL things Red Velvet. Thank you for going through the trouble of making these...my taste buds and my heart thank you...but my tummy and my thighs don't. But whatever. It's the holidays! Time to splurge on decadent delights!
